(Personal data protection code) — Notice updated on {}

This page, drafted pursuant to Arts. 13 and 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 ("privacy code"), and following the simplified methods for cookie notice and consent acquisition set out by the Italian Data Protection Authority’s general provision of May 8, 2014, as well as in compliance with the general privacy requirements under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), provides users with a detailed explanation of what cookies are and how they are used on this site. Users browsing this site will have small amounts of information stored on their devices—computers or mobile devices—in small text files called "cookies" saved in the directories used by the user’s web browser.

Premise: What Cookies Are and Why They Are Used

Cookies are simple text files that a visited website can download to your computer, tablet, smartphone, or other device via the browser (the program you use to surf, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome).
They contain basic information about Internet browsing and, thanks to the browser, are recognized each time the user visits the site, so you don’t have to reselect certain options such as language, font size, or other preferences, enabling advanced features, improving the browsing experience and enhancing pages and services offered.
The technique of cookies to “remember” user actions and collect statistical data has long been used in IT, but over time has been used for diverse purposes, including tracking browsing habits to build a virtual profile. These files (cookies) can therefore be used for various purposes, so we should distinguish cookies according to their purpose and use.

Types of Cookies

  • Technical Cookies: completely harmless and used to implement the site’s proper functioning; they are in turn divided into two categories.
    • persistent: they are not destroyed when the browser is closed but remain until a preset expiration date or until the user deletes them.
    • session: they are destroyed each time the browser is closed
These cookies are necessary to display the site correctly and, in relation to the technical services offered, will therefore always be used and sent, unless the user changes their browser settings.
  • Analytics and Profiling Cookies: used to track browsing habits and collect user data, typically to build a virtual identity and display targeted advertising and products.
  • Third-Party Cookies: cookies used and downloaded to your device by third-party companies and sites that integrate features on the visited site, often to collect statistical data, such as Google Analytics, or social plugins like Facebook.

How to Block Cookies?

While technical cookies are harmless and are not even covered by privacy protection rules, cookie technology is strictly tied to your browser and you can block them via its settings.
We also suggest using private/incognito browsing (always available in your browser) if your priority is to leave no trace during your navigation on the internet.

HOW TO DISABLE COOKIES IN BROWSERS

If you use any other browser or a mobile device, look in the browser settings for how to manage cookies, or search online for your specific model to find instructions.

For more about managing cookies on mobile device browsers, consult the specific user manual. You can also find further information about cookies and how to manage them at www.aboutcookies.org

Warning: totally or partially disabling technical cookies can compromise the use of some site features. Disabling “third-party” cookies, on the other hand, does not affect navigability.

Cookies Used on This Site

This website uses both proprietary technical cookies (first-party) and third-party cookies to enable and improve site usage and to implement additional services. The cookies we use are listed below by type and service. Please remember that your privacy is important to us; you can disable cookies as explained below, and you are free at any time not to accept our policy if you do not find it suitable for your needs.

Technical Cookies Used by This Site

These cookies are technical in nature and allow the site to function correctly; they do not store any browsing data. We list them here for completeness and transparency:

Third-Party Cookies Used by This Site

We use services provided by third parties that may install cookies required for those services to function correctly; we have no control over these cookies. For information on these third-party cookies and how to disable them, please use the links below for each third-party cookie; we list them by service:

Google Analytics

We use the Google Analytics statistics service on this site; it can track user behavior while browsing. Cookies set by this service are used to collect information on site usage and to generate detailed statistics for this site’s administrators in completely anonymous form. Google, which owns the service, uses such data in aggregate form to share it with other services it provides and to generate advertising (served through AdSense) tailored to the user. This site does not track or profile first-party users and has no agreements with Google for first-party profiling.

Anonymous Google Analytics

Regarding Google’s analytics service, our site uses Google Analytics in anonymous mode (anonymizeIp), therefore these analytics cookies are not considered profiling cookies. With this mode, Google records the user’s IP address in truncated form, ensuring user anonymity. This mode is active only within EU countries.
Also, in the Analytics admin panel we have disabled sharing collected data with other Google services; however, this does not guarantee Google might not use it otherwise. For more info, see the pages below:

In the table below we list cookies set by Google Analytics on your devices for access statistics. Depending on use, this JavaScript library may set additional cookies; the main ones are:

CookiePurposeDurationOrigin

Note: Users can selectively disable Google Analytics by installing the opt-out add-on for their browser. To disable Google Analytics, please visit:
Google Opt-out Add-on >

Facebook Social Plugin

This site uses Facebook social plugins, such as the page widget and the “like” and “share” buttons. Through these plugins Facebook installs some technical cookies required for the service to function and some profiling cookies capable of tracking user behavior. These cookies may remain installed in the user’s browser beyond a single session. This site does not first-party profile users and has no agreements with Facebook to profile in first party.

Cookies from Other Social Networks

This site may implement additional buttons to share content on other social networks, such as Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn.
Each may set cookies to operate their sharing buttons. For example, LinkedIn sets the following cookie:

Retargeting and Tracking

This site includes code snippets capable of tracking visitors to our pages by setting cookies in the visitor’s browser. Data thus collected later allows us (retargeting) to display targeted advertising banners in remarketing; specifically, this site uses:

  • Facebook Pixel: tracks visits to specific pages as well as add-to-cart and purchase events.

In addition, we use a script to track visitor behavior while on our web pages, provided by HotJar. In this case, the collected data is completely anonymous; we can only understand how users interact with our pages.

Data Controller

The “Controller” of personal data collected following navigation of the aforementioned site and of any other data used to provide our services is Vincenzo Caro, Contrada Erbe Bianche, 26/B - 91021 Campobello di Mazara (TP) — ITALY.

Information Voluntarily Sent by Visitors

A visitor may voluntarily send information to this site if:

  • - submitting a contact request via the Contacts page (or similar forms)
  • - posting a comment on pages where this is allowed

Our contact form requests some basic information (such as name and email address). This information is necessary to respond to the visitor’s explicit request. It will not be shared with third parties outside this site and will be processed in compliance with the privacy code (Legislative Decree 196/2003).

If the visitor requests information about the services offered by this site or about their data in our possession, they can request it by contacting us via email. The data controller is described in the section above.

Who Has Access to This Data

Data collected by the web services using cookies strictly offered by this site is accessible only by the data controller (see section above).
Third-party cookies, instead, are accessible by the third-party companies providing the service itself, e.g., Google and Facebook.

Future Changes to the Site and to Regulations

This site may change, in the future, the services that use cookies, and current regulations may be updated and/or modified to implement and/or comply with national, EU, or international rules, or to adapt to technological innovations. Updates and/or changes will be promptly reported on this web page. We therefore invite you to visit this page often to learn about any updates—both technical and regulatory—so as to protect your privacy rights.
